Just when I thought I couldn’t be anymore appalled with this city than I already am, she surprised me, yet again. I thought it was bad enough that the Chicago DMV got testy with me yesterday (because every DMV that ever existed has always been trash), but no, girl friend stepped her game up to be even more trash when I rode the CTA this morning. I took the bus to work like always, only this time, I was paired with an attitude-having, dollar-store-lash-set-wearing, no-home-training-ass bus driver who had the nerve to purposefully skip my requested stop on Michigan and Van Buren—the one stop my job’s shuttle picks me up from to make it easier to get to the office, because without it, I have to take additional transportation (the Brown Line) then walk an extra half mile to get to work (late). But "miss thing" didn't care about any of that—she only cared about attempting to gaslight me into believing that she did indeed make the appropriate stop, and refused to let me off the bus or even acknowledge me, the other passengers who had my back, or the careless mistake she made. But above all else, I think what angers me more than the overt rudeness of city employees is that I couldn't bring myself to forego my own home training to address these simpletons the way I wanted to, so thanks a lot Mom and Dad, my clap-back game is suffering because of you!
