I'm Bri!

I'm a small-town girl with a big world mindset. That's why I left my hometown of Bloomington, IL—to give myself more room to grow and less room to doubt myself. My journey began in undergrad at the University of Missouri, and with a desire to climb higher I moved to Chicago to pursue my creative ambitions. After graduating from Roosevelt University with an MFA in Creative Writing, I decided to stick around in the city and chase my dreams here.

Chicago's a wonderful place, but it's also wild and unpredictable, and can be difficult to navigate. That's why I decided to create this blog—because I know I can't be the only one trying to bob and weave through this rollercoaster of a life. I'm not here to sugar-coat anything, because life doesn't afford us this courtesy. I'm just here to share my ups, my downs, and everything in between with hopes that you and I can walk away having learned something. It won't always be profound and it won't always be shallow, but it will be real. Join my journey to becoming carefree, and find your freedom along the way.
